Graduate Student Scholarship Opportunities

The Graduate School occasionally receives information concerning scholarships that are available to graduate students.  We will provide information and links to websites of scholarship opportunities on this site as we receive them.  Here are some that we have recently received.

Interservice 2009 Fellowship Program of the Council for European Studies (CES) - Established in 1971, the CES Fellowship Program has played a crucial role in the early stages of many scholars' careers. The Program serves as the leading source for pre-dissertation fellowships that fund students' first major research projects in Europe. The application form, and full details, may be found at www.councilforeuropeanstudies.org (see the Fellowships section, under the Awards tab). The next call for applications for the Pre-Dissertation Award will be posted in fall 2008. The deadline will be February 1, 2009.

Fulbright Scholar Programs - application eligibility for the various U.S. programs differs, but basic requirements are determined by the following criteria: U.S. citizenship; a Ph.D. or equivalent professional or terminal degree; college or university teaching experience at the level and in the field of the assignment for a proposed lecturing activity.  To receive printed copies of the application materials or additional Information about any of the Fulbright Scholar Programs you can contact Fulbright Scholar Program, Council for International Exchange of Scholars at (202) 686-7877.  Both award and application information for all programs is also available at  www.cies.org.  Applicants may apply online.
